I should start by saying this is my third blog…What I do is start the blog, spend hours picking out a theme etc. , get super excited about it and then completely forget about it. I hope this time is different… The other two blogs were on different subjects, but this subject has caused me physical pain so I hope my passion for this one lasts. I figure I have researched so much on plantar fasciitis that I might help someone get through it. I know I have felt better reading about other people who have it or better yet HAD it and lived to tell. This is my second bout of it within 3 years. Last time it was my right foot due to hiking excessively and now it’s my left foot, because I wore the dreaded flip-flops around Boston for 4 miles. That was 5 months and 1 cortisone shot ago. I started Physical Therapy today and something called Iontophoresis where they drive steroids into your heel via an electric current. The cortisone shot took 90% of the pain away, but I have still had pain that is nagging and wears you out mentally. There are days I still limp if I do too much. I do not have the benefit of a desk job…and I walk all day long in a hospital. My hope is this Physical Therapy treatment will get rid of the last bit of pain and this PF will be gone. Then my goal is finish a 10K…I will be thrilled to run or even run/walk it. Just to be pain free!
